Kel Assouf (Niger)

Anana Harouna, the group's founder, comes from the Tuareg people who live in the vast Sahara desert and who also know political marginalization.

Singer of the group, was born in Agadez, located to the north of the Niger. He left for exile with his family when he was 12 and remained in Libya where he trained. At the age of 17 he was part of the first Tuareg rebellion in the 1990s. This rebellion, which was led by the Tuareg youth against the state of Mali and Niger, was aimed at regaining the right to respect for the nomadic populations of the Sahara.

From there, he finds another way of denouncing the injustices of this victimized people: music. Today he continues this fight with another weapon: the guitar.
